We should have arrived at The Westin St Francis around 8:30 – 9:00pm. There were five of us travelling together (my family) and we’d decided we’d just do a quiet dinner and get to sleep earlyish after a big day of travelling.

2014 was a huge year for me. My husband and I spent the beginning of the year setting up our new business. We maintained our full time jobs, and we started a very demanding business. Mid way through the year we each quit our jobs to turn our full attention to our new work, on my part that was a couple of months earlier than we had planned. I was burning out and we were only just at the beginning of the process.

When we booked our accommodation for the wedding we attended in Maleny I was rather excited about it. You see, it wasn’t at all cheap. So we arrived and it was nice, it just wasn’t as great as I was expecting given the price.

An Evening in Mudgee
Last week my husband I got back from a very large two weeks on the road. We had a week or so of meetings in Dubbo, Orange and Bathurst and then we drove to Maleny in the Queensland hinterland for a wedding. After leaving Bathurst however, we stopped overnight in Mudgee in a beautiful little b&b called Evanslea. We received the night’s accommodation as a wedding present and rather than use it immediately we thought we’d graciously save it and use it for our anniversary or nearby. Apparently we would not anticipate how full up this year would become and we weren’t able to plan a weekend away but this worked out perfectly anyway.
