Old Town Mexican Cafe: Review

Following our hectic afternoon at the Zoo all I really wanted to do was fall into bed but we were departing San Diego bright and early the following morning and I had yet to sample some Mexican cuisine. I simply could not leave without doing so, so we turned to our San Diegan friend Isaac for an Old Town recommendation as we hadn’t been there yet either and he suggested Old Town Mexican Cafe for both atmosphere and deliciousness.

He wasn’t wrong! We arrived and it was super busy so I was a bit nervous about the wait but we were advised about 20 minutes. We sat up at the bar for about 15 minutes then were shown to our table.

We ordered guac and flautas to share and I had to go for a chimichanga (which I ate approximately 1/4 of – thank you sickness!) All was delicious but those flautas were the STAR. So, so good. I also sampled a Cadillac margarita at the recommendation of our friend and I can report it is not to be missed.
