Swamp People: The Real Life Edition

We do not have Foxtel so in January when we visited Louisiana I had never seen an episode of Swamp People. But that show (and the accent accompanying it’s stars) was a hot topic in the bus on the way out to Airboat Adventures.

Our Airboat tour started near Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve and when we arrived and I stared out at the beautiful Southern Louisiana bayou scene stretched out in front of me I did what I had spent most of my Louisiana time doing.

“Isn’t it pretty!?”

Does NOT look like Swampland huh? At least it didn’t to me. I know I’ve said it before… I don’t know exactly what I was expecting but it definitely was not this.

Things I learned: swamps are really interesting and DIVERSE. Airboats are fun and LOUD. We had such a great time! Have you been on an airboat?
